6. Lifeboat load testing

Lifeboat load test water bags system is widely used for the distributed proof load testing for the lifeboat, gangway and other equipment that need distributed load testing. Small capacity water bags can be arranged inside the lifeboat to simulate passenger loading. Load water can then be accurately metered into the water bags using volumetrically calibrated and certified water meters.

Lifeboat load test water bags are sausage cylindrical shape. It is made of heavy-duty PVC coating fabric. Each lifeboat testing bags equip fill valves, handles, and automatic relief valves. The relief valves can open once the water bags achieve the designed weight.

7. Lifeboat davit load testing

SOLAS regulations (Ref. SOLAS Part 1, Chapter III, Regulation 20) and lifting equipment regulations (LOLAS) request all vessels are required to perform proof load testing of their lifeboat’s launching appliances and on-load release gear to 110% of its rated capacity at intervals not exceeding 5 years.

8. Vessel gangway load testing

According to IMO Regulation II-1/3-9 SOLAS Convention, and the Guidelines for Construction, Installation, Maintenance and Inspection/Survey of Means of Embarkation and Disembarkation, the ladders and gangways should be periodic static proof load tested at 5-year intervals.

We offer two kinds of water bags used for this proof load test. One is the cylinder-shaped water bags, nominally rated from 100kg to 600kg each. It is the same with the water bags used for the lifeboat load test. Another is the specially designed gangway water bags.

Gangway water bag test weights can be used for the load testing of gangway, accommodation ladder, small bridge, platform, floor and other long structures.

Our standard gangway test water bags are 650L and 1300L capacity. For the larger gangways and small bridges can be tested with our 1-tonne Mattress Bags (MB1000). We also can make other size and shape load test bags upon the clients’ special request.

Each gangway load testing bags equip with one filling valve, one discharge valve, and one air-relief valve. The discharge valve can be controlled by one rope. There are some handles at both sides. The worker can fix the water bag test weights by these handles.

9. ROV lunch frame load testing

10. Platform and bridge load testing

The contractors should do the proof load test for the platforms and bridges after building. The load testing can ensure whether the bridge can structurally withstand the expected vehicular or equipment loads.
